Heather Brown is a Professor of Public Health and Health Inequalities at Lancaster University, UK.
Heather received her PhD on the economic causes and consequences of obesity from the University of Sheffield. Heather has published widely in both economics and public health journals including Health Economics, Social Science and Medicine, Health Policy and Planning, Lancet Public Health, and Journal of Economic Psychology. She is the author of a text book on policy evaluation techniques: The Economics of Public Health. Her main research interests are on the intersection of labour and health, intergenerational mobility, migration, labour market outcomes, and inequalities, and the economics causes and consequences of health inequalities.
She joined IZA as a Research Fellow in December 2021.
