David Slusky is a Professor of Economics at the University of Kansas.
He researches three areas: 1) access to healthcare (women's health clinic closures lower preventive care and raise the unmarried birth rate, Uber availability lowers ambulances usage rates, and Catholic hospitals have lower tubal ligation rates); 2) infrastructure and environment (the Flint water crisis lowers the birth rate, and sunlight lowers asthma); and 3) insurance (the Medicaid expansion reduces medical divorce and improves health, and eligibility for disability insurance raises disability rates).
David Slusky received a B.S. in physics and international studies from Yale University and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University.
David Slusky joined IZA as a Research Fellow in June 2019.
