Wiljan van den Berge obtained his PhD from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2019. He is currently a post-doc at Utrecht School of Economics, and will start as Assistant Professor at the same university in August 2023. He also holds a part-time position in the labour department at CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis and is affiliated to the Boston University Technology and Policy Research Initiative. He has visited Boston University in 2018 and 2019.
Wiljan’s research interests are in labour economics and include (1) the impact of technology on the labour market, (2) wage setting, minimum wages and flexible work arrangements, and (3) the long-run impact of labour market shocks on workers.
Wiljan became an IZA Research Affiliate in May 2023.
