Volha is an Assistant Professor in Economics and Marie-Curie Research Fellow at the Department of Economics (Econometrics and Data Science), Interdisciplinary Centre for Population Dynamics (University of Southern Denmark), and an affiliate at Lund University.

Since then, Volha has conducted research at the intersection of labour economics, health economics, and Economic history, using state-of-the-art microeconometric methods and Scandinavian countries as a venue for research. She focuses on the long-term effects of social reforms that brought new progressive ideas to the life of people, ranged from the first smallpox vaccines to modern social norms.
