Ricarda Schmidl studied economics at the University in Bonn and the Université des Sciences Sociales Toulouse I in France. After her graduation as a Diplom-Volkswirt in 2008 she joined IZA as a Resident Research Affiliate under the IZA Scholarship Program, and received her PhD from the University of Potsdam in May 2014. Between September 2013 and December 2016 she was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Mannheim. She currently holds a position as Senior Consultant at PwC in Frankfurt. She remains affiliated with IZA as a Research Fellow.

Her main research interests include applied labor economics with a special focus on the microeconometric evaluation of labor market policies.
