Michael Grimm is Professor of Development Economics at the University of Passau. He is also an affiliated with RWI Research Network and is a Research Professor at the German Institute of Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin. He holds an MA in Economics from Frankfurt University and an MA in Population Economics and PhD in Development Economics both from Sciences-Po Paris. He is a founding member of the Rotterdam Global Health Initiative, a member of the Executive Board of the European Development Research Network (EUDN) and currently the chairman of the Research Group on Development Economics of the German Economic Association (VfS). His research covers problems related to poverty and growth such as education, health and informal labour markets including the evaluation of policies in these domains.
He has published in journals such as the Journal of Development Economics, World Bank Economic Review, Health Economics, Demography and the Journal of Economic Geography.
He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in February 2012.
