Abdurrahman B. Aydemir is a professor of economics at Sabancı University. He is also a Research Fellow in CReAM. Formerly, he held a senior economist position at Statistics Canada (2002-2007), and was a research associate at the Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (2001-2002). He received his Ph.D. degree in economics from the University of Western Ontario in 2003.
His research focuses on immigration, education, and intergenerational mobility. His current research is on the evolution and impact of immigrant social networks, labor market consequences of immigration, and the effects of compulsory schooling law changes. Among other journals, he published in theReview of Economics and Statistics, Journal of the European Economics Association, European Economic Review, Canadian Journal of Economics,and theIndustrial and Labor Relations Review.
